Auckland University of Technology (AUT) seeks a Technology Experience & Enablement Senior Manager to lead the digital workplace strategy and a team delivering exceptional technology experiences for staff and students.

The role focuses on secure, intelligent, and accessible technology that supports productivity, collaboration and innovation across AUT. It balances long-term strategy with delivery excellence, guiding multidisciplinary teams and modern workplace services.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years in IT with at least 5 years in modern workplace leadership.
  • Experience leading and developing a high-performing technology team.
  • Experience managing delivery priorities, investment planning, vendor relationships.
  • Familiar with endpoint management, Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, IS or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AUT's digital workplace strategy and the team delivering technology experiences for students, researchers and staff.
  • Drive innovation through AI, automation and modern workplace technologies.
  • Ensure the technology ecosystem is secure, intelligent, accessible and evolving to support productivity and collaboration across the University.

The Technology Experience & Enablement Senior Manager is a permanent full time role, that leads AUT's digital workplace strategy and the team responsible for delivering exceptional technology experiences to students, researchers, and staff.

The role ensures AUT's technology ecosystem is secure, intelligent, accessible, and continuously evolving to support productivity, collaboration, engagement, and innovation across the University.

You will be responsible for driving the adoption of modern workplace technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital experience initiatives that enable AUT's strategic ambitions.

Reporting to the Director Client Facing Technology, the Technology Experience & Enablement Senior Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across AUT's modern workplace and digital experience portfolio. This includes endpoint management (Microsoft and Apple), Microsoft 365 services, collaboration platforms, identity services, employee experience technologies, digital adoption, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.

The role balances long-term strategy with delivery excellence, leading multidisciplinary teams that ensure technology delivers meaningful outcomes for the AUT community.

  • Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and digital curiosity.
  • Ensuring modern, secure, scalable, and resilient digital workplace services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Salary Ranges | Ngā Utu: $140 – 145k
