Job summary

PwC New Zealand is seeking a seasoned Cloud/Data/AI Architect to lead end-to-end design and delivery of large-scale integration, data and AI solutions for major NZ clients across financial services, government and enterprise. You’ll shape strategy, mentor teams and partner with clients to unlock trusted data and scalable architectures.

The role requires 10+ years experience, multi-cloud backgrounds (Azure, MuleSoft), strong leadership and pre-sales involvement, and a commitment to security,

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience leading end-to-end data and integration designs.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable architectures.
  • Experience with client workshops and pre-sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of large-scale cloud integration, data and AI solutions, leveraging Azure, MuleSoft and modern architecture patterns across complex enterprise environments
  • Architect and implement scalable API-led, microservices and event-driven solutions that connect business-critical platforms, data ecosystems and AI-enabled services
  • Engage directly with clients to run workshops, define requirements, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Provide technical leadership across significant transformation programmes, ensuring solutions meet enterprise standards for security, resilience, performance and operational scale
  • Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering, DevOps, CI/CD and automation practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality and create sustainable engineering capability
  • Support pre-sales and solution shaping, contributing to proposals and building strong client relationships
  • Mentor and guide engineers, contributing to practice growth and capability development

  • Mentor and guide engineers, contributing to practice growth and capability development
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related degree.
  • 10 years+ experience leading end-to-end design and delivery of data and integration solutions, including running client workshops, gathering and translating business and data requirements into scalable architectures, and ensuring alignment to security, reliability, and well-Architected principles
  • Proven ability to build and manage client relationships in a commercial environment, with experience supporting pre-sales (proposals, solution shaping, technical discussions), and confidently engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive successful outcomes

  • Integration Platforms: MuleSoft (CloudHub)
  • Amazon Web Services: EKS, Bedrock, Agent Core, API Gateway, Storage Services, EC2, Lambda, VPC
  • Platform & Infrastructure: OpenShift, SAP BTP
  • Data Integration: ETL/ELT, API-based integration, event-driven integration, data pipelines
  • Data Platforms: Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, including data engineering, lakehouse architecture and platform integration
