PwC New Zealand is seeking an AI Risk Business Partner to help our people navigate evolving AI risk, policies and governance. You will translate requirements into practical guidance across Lines of Service, engagement teams and internal functions.

This is a highly collaborative role that builds responsible AI capability, coordinates across Technology Risk, Legal, Privacy and Data, and helps embed responsible AI into the way we work.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk, governance, technology, compliance or regulated environments.
• Ability to translate complex AI policies, risks or technical concepts into clear, practical guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders and teams to understand AI usage and provide practical risk advice.
• Translate AI policies and governance requirements into clear guidance for users.
• Advise teams on responsible AI use, including human oversight and escalation requirements.
• Coordinate AI risk matters across Technology Risk, Legal, Privacy, Independence, Cyber, Data and Risk & Quality.
• Develop practical guidance, FAQs, decision tools, scenarios and training for AI requirements.
• Facilitate briefings and workshops to build responsible AI capability across the firm.
• Identify recurring AI risks and opportunities to improve controls and guidance.
• Keep abreast of AI technology developments and translate implications for PwC New Zealand.

As our use of AI continues to grow, we're looking for an AI Risk Business Partner to help our people navigate this evolving landscape responsibly and confidently. Working across PwC New Zealand, you'll be a trusted adviser to our Lines of Service, engagement teams and internal functions, helping translate AI policies, risk requirements and emerging issues into practical guidance that works in the real world. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll connect people with the right expertise, help resolve complex or novel AI risk questions and play an important part in embedding responsible AI into the way we work.

• Partnering with business leaders, engagement teams and internal functions to understand how AI is being used and provide practical, commercially focused risk advice.
• Translating AI policies, business rules and governance requirements into clear guidance that helps our people make confident decisions.
• Advising teams on responsible AI use, including professional judgement, human oversight, quality, confidentiality and escalation requirements.
• Coordinating complex or emerging AI risk matters across specialists including Technology Risk, Legal, Privacy, Independence, Cyber, Data and Risk & Quality.
• Developing practical guidance, FAQs, decision tools, scenarios and training that make AI requirements easier to understand and apply.
• Facilitating briefings, workshops and targeted education to build responsible AI capability across the firm.
• Identifying recurring challenges, emerging risks and opportunities to improve AI controls, guidance and ways of working.
• Keeping connected to developments in AI technology and translating what they mean in practice for PwC New Zealand.

Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role We’re looking for someone who can bring together strong judgement, curiosity and relationship-building skills in a fast-evolving area. You could come from risk, governance, technology, compliance, legal, privacy, professional services or another environment where you've helped people navigate complex requirements. You'll ideally bring: Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the confidence to work across different teams, disciplines and levels of seniority. The ability to translate complex policies, risks or technical concepts into clear, practical business guidance. Sound judgement and the ability to work through ambiguous, novel or evolving issues where there may not be a straightforward answer. Experience working within a risk, governance, controls, technology or regulated environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate workshops, briefings and conversations with diverse audiences. Curiosity about AI, emerging technologies and how organisations can use them responsibly while enabling innovation. A collaborative mindset and the ability to bring together specialist perspectives to help stakeholders reach practical outcomes.
