Job summary

Stanley Instrumentation and Electrical Limited in Taupo is seeking an experienced Team Lead or Supervisor to guide our team of tradesmen and apprentices. You will oversee calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial electrical and automation equipment, while ensuring safety and quality.

You will lead by example, manage client relationships, and stay hands-on with daily work. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa is required for this role.

Qualifications

• NZ Electrical Registration is required.
• Experience in power generation is preferred but not required.
• Experience with industrial construction and/or maintenance is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Practical mindset and ability to adapt quickly.
• Proficiency with computers and new software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of electricians and technicians (tradespeople and apprentices).
• Oversee calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial electrical and automation equipment.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and to high standards.
• Liaise with clients and project managers to deliver exceptional service.
• Be hands-on with the team, not just office management.

Stanley Instrumentation & Electrical Limited is a contracting and maintenance provider based in Taupō. We work on all sorts of interesting industrial projects across the Taupō/Waikato region. This includes calibrating and commissioning electrical and automation equipment in industrial settings e.g. power stations, geothermal drilling rigs, and wood processing mills.

Your role will include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of electricians and technicians (tradesmen and apprentices)

• You will hands-on alongside the team, not just managing from the office

What we need from you:

• NZ Electrical Registration
• Experience in power generation preferred not required
• Experience with industrial construction and/or maintenance
• Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record
• Organised with an eye for detail
• Practical mindset and be able to think on your feet
• Proficiency with computers, adaptability to new software
• Take pride in your work and go the extra mile to make sure the job is top notch
• MUST have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
