Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

If you've got the experience to run electrical work across a whole site rather than just your own patch, our client has a permanent Electrical Site Supervisor's role open in Queenstown, with a rate to match.

The role carries overall responsibility for electrical work across the site, including installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding, along with oversight of multiple work crews and coordination between foremen, apprentices and subcontractors. You'll set programme expectations, monitor labour performance and productivity across the site, and be the point of escalation when issues need resolving quickly.

You must be a qualified electrician with significant site leadership experience and the confidence to take full ownership of site outcomes, not just individual jobs. You'll liaise directly with clients, suppliers and internal teams to keep the wider project on track.

What you'll need:
  • Current NZ Electrical Registration and Practicing Licence
  • Strong understanding of current codes of practice and electrical regulations
  • Proven ability to lead and hold multiple teams accountable under deadline pressure
  • Safe Working Practices Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Site Safe
  • Full class 1 driver's licence
Skills and Experience:
  • Must have had four years’ experience working as an Electrician with a further two years as a Foreman.
  • Knowledge and experience of the methods, regulations, materials, and machinery involved in Electrical installation work.
  • A good understanding of the construction environment.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel management, scheduling, continuous improvement, and training.
  • Flexibility with working hours.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supervise multiple job sites.
  • Undertake day to day electrical services to design, assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, components, appliances, and facilities for industrial, commercial, and domestic purposes.
  • Familiarise and understand plans, specifications, tender letter, and sub-contractor agreements for each allocated project.
  • Assess resources, procure plant and materials required to meet programmes.
  • Consulting with Foreman, builders, architects, and other workers on site.
  • Maintain company Health & Safety policies and paperwork.
