Commercial work is a significant and growing part of the business, alongside residential projects and servicing. With a strong pipeline of work and some sizeable commercial projects underway, the team is looking to add another experienced electrician to strengthen its commercial capability.

About the role

This is a hands-on, commercially focused Licensed Electrician role for someone who knows their trade, takes ownership of their work and enjoys being part of a team that gets things done.

You'll primarily work across commercial projects, with the opportunity to take responsibility for your own work and, depending on your experience, run work on site and provide direction and support to other electricians and apprentices. While there is opportunity to step up, this is still very much an on-the-tools role.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering electrical installations across commercial projects
• Taking ownership of assigned work and managing priorities on site
• Running or coordinating commercial work where appropriate to your experience
• Working effectively with project managers, builders, contractors and other trades
• Supporting and providing guidance to apprentices and less experienced electricians
• Fault finding, maintenance and other electrical work as required
• Maintaining accurate job information, time records and documentation
• Ensuring work meets electrical, safety and company standards

About you

You'll be an experienced electrician who can be trusted to get on with the job and deliver a consistently high standard of work. You communicate well, take responsibility for what you're doing and are comfortable working both independently and alongside a wider project team.

You will likely have:

• Current New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence
• Ideally 5+ years’ electrical experience
• Strong hands-on commercial electrical experience
• Sound technical knowledge and a high standard of workmanship
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your work
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Full New Zealand driver licence
• Experience running commercial sites or coordinating others would be advantageous
• Experience supporting or training apprentices would be beneficial
