Job summary

Real is seeking a Team Coach - Clinician to lead a small, community-based youth wellbeing service in Whanganui. The role blends hands-on clinical work with leadership, coaching, and service development to improve outcomes for taiohi and whānau.

You’ll balance a clinical caseload with people leadership, delivering coaching and supporting recruitment, development, and partnerships across health, education, iwi and community sectors. Applications close soon.

• Experience leading or supervising teams in health or social services.
• Strong coaching, communication and relationship-building skills.

The opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

As Team Coach - Clinician, you'll lead fromalongside your team, maintaining a clinical caseload while providingleadership, coaching, and support to a small team of one clinician and twoyouth workers.

Because of the size of the team, you'llhave a genuine opportunity to influence the direction of the service, championinnovation, and make a highly visible difference in the lives of taiohi andwhānau throughout the Whanganui rohe.

You'll be empowered to strengthen clinicalpractice, foster a positive team culture, build meaningful partnerships, andhelp ensure the service continues to evolve to meet emerging community needs.

You'll also receive ongoing coaching andleadership support from the Service and Relationship Manager, creating a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their confidence andcapability as a leader.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing clinical assessment and support for taiohiexperiencing mild to moderate mental health, addiction, and wellbeingchallenges.
• Leading a mobile, community-based service that delivers supportwhere young people feel most comfortable.
• Providing coaching, guidance, and clinical leadership to a teamof clinicians and youth workers.
• Supporting recruitment, professional development, performancecoaching, and wellbeing of kaimahi.
• Creating an environment where people feel empowered to learn,innovate, and do their best work.
• Working alongside taiohi, whānau, and community partners tocontinuously improve and shape the service.
• Ensuring high-quality service delivery and effective contractperformance.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships across Health NZ,education, iwi, community organisations, and the wider social sector.
• Identifying emerging needs and helping develop responsivesolutions that improve outcomes for taiohi.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Whanganui, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. You will also participate in an on-call roster.

Skills and experience | Ngā pūkenga mengā wheako

You'll have:

• Registration and a current APC as an Occupational Therapist,Registered Nurse, Social Worker, DAPAANZ practitioner, or other relevantregistered health professional.
• Experience working in mental health, addiction, youthwellbeing, health, disability, or social services.
• Leadership experience, or demonstrated leadership potential anda desire to develop as a leader.
• Experience engaging with young people experiencing mentalhealth and/or addiction challenges.
• The ability to build effective relationships across health,education, and community sectors.
• Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-buildingskills.
• A commitment to modelling wellbeing, professionalism, andvalues-based leadership.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
