Job summary

First Focus in New Zealand is seeking a Systems Engineer to own complex client environments, resolve escalations, and drive robust infrastructure solutions. You will act as the technical escalation point, owning environments from design through implementation and ongoing optimization.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, strong collaboration with engineers, and ongoing professional growth within a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a Systems Engineer or similar infrastructure-focused IT role.
• Strong technical troubleshooting capability across complex environments.
• Solid expertise in server administration, networks, cybersecurity, and incident resolution.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies: 365, Windows Server, Exchange, AD, DNS/ DHCP; relevant certifications preferred (AZ-104/305, MS-102, CCNA).

Responsibilities

• Act as Level 3 escalation point for advanced troubleshooting of infrastructure, networks, and security.
• Design, implement, and maintain client infrastructure across Microsoft cloud, on-premise, and networks.
• Lead project scoping: requirements, design, effort estimation, and proposal docs.
• Provide pre-sales technical input for architecture and client consultations.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, standards, and best practices.
