The Treasury, part of the New Zealand Government, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Enabling Services team on a permanent basis. Your focus will be to manage, maintain and develop Enabling Services platforms (virtual and public cloud) to enable agencies to meet their priorities.
You will work with AD, Azure, EntraID, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Veeam and virtualization, and automate with PowerShell.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Enabling Services team on a permanent basis. In this role, your primary focus will be to manage, maintain and develop the Enabling Services platforms (virtual and public cloud) to enable our agencies to meet their strategic priorities. As an experienced Systems Engineer, you will have skills with Microsoft’s products, in particular Active Directory, Azure, EntraID, Microsoft365, Windows server, Veeam and Virtualisation. You will be comfortable managing server, storage, and virtualisation platforms, with experience in identity and access management, Group Policy, and PowerShell automation. The role also involves elements of network management and contributing to our cloud, security, and modern workplace initiatives. There are also opportunities to extend into other areas important to Enabling Services, such as disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and security.
To succeed in this role, you will bring: a strong technical aptitude and demonstrated skill in performing technical problem determination and analysis; a can‑do attitude; excellent written and verbal communication skills; a computer science or ICT related university degree or equivalent industry qualifications or experience; the ability to meet the criteria required to hold a NewZealand Government security clearance.
