Job summary

New Zealand Government is seeking an Advisor to join the Communications and Engagement Team in the Enabling Services division on a permanent basis in Wellington. You will help develop communication strategies, produce engaging content, and support both internal and external engagement activities.

You will bring strong writing/editing skills, experience delivering diverse communications, and a collaborative approach to drive meaningful impact for New Zealanders.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in delivering internal and external communications.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, translating complex information into clear content.
  • Experience producing content across speeches, presentations, media releases and social media.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong relationship management and cross-team collaboration abilities.
  • Awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive, culturally responsive communication.

Our Communications and Engagement Team is one of the functions of the Enabling Services Directorate at the Treasury. The Communications and Engagement team plays a central role in connecting our work with our people, our stakeholders, and the public. We work closely with our agency counterparts to get to the heart of problems, understand options, and influence outcomes with a strong economic and financial perspective. Our work programme primarily centres on implementing communication plans, produce engaging content, and coordinate internal and external engagement activities. We’ve got big plans as a team to develop new and refresh existing communication and engagement channels so we’re looking for someone who brings fresh thinking and innovative ideas to help drive meaningful impact and support the team's ongoing success.

In this role you will:
