Job summary

HealthCare NZ in Nelson is looking for Support Workers to assist clients in living independently at home and in the community. You will follow care plans and provide practical and emotional support to help clients reach their goals.

Roles involve meal prep, outings, personal cares, medication assistance, and home management. A full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport are preferred; NZQA qualifications funded pathway available; right to work in NZ required.

We are currently seeking Support Workers in Nelson who are available to support a complex client and are flexible to travel within the region.

Shift details are as follows:

Week 2:

• Sat -7am to 2pm
• Sat 10pm to 6am (sunday) Sleepover
• Sunday 6am to 1pm

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
