Job summary

IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and in the community. You will support clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night.

We look for someone with an open-minded attitude; prior disability or aged care experience is preferred but not essential. A NZ driver’s license and comfort with computers/tablets are important.

Qualifications

• Prefer previous experience in caregiving or personal care for adults.
• Calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Willing to work rostered shifts including days, evenings, sleepovers and weekends.
• Full NZ driver's license and ability to use computers/tablets daily.

Responsibilities

• Support people with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and communities.
• Assist with night-time care, risk management and safety.
• Build good relationships with the people we support.

IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and as part of their community.You will be supporting people with intellectual disabilities living in their own homes to achieve their goals and aspirations.This is meaningful work where you can be creative and make every day interesting in ways that are important to others.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night. Previous relevant experience is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.

We would prefer someone who has previous experience working within the disability sector or aged care, but more importantly, we are looking for someonewith some life experience and the right attitude. It is essential that youhave the skills to build good relationships with the people we support.

• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• A Full NZ driver's license.
