Job summary

HealthCare New Zealand is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our Alexandra team. You will assist clients to live independently at home and in the community, following care plans and providing practical and emotional support.

Roles include meal preparation, community outings, medication assistance, personal cares, and home management. A full NZ drivers' licence and your own transport are preferred, with training and NZQA-funded qualifications available.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or care-giving is advantageous.
• Full NZ drivers' licence and own transport preferred.
• Right to work in New Zealand and police vetting required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients to live independently at home and in the community.
• Follow care plans including meal prep, medication, personal cares and home management.

We are currently seeking candidates located Ranfurly who are available to below mentioned shifts and flexible to travel.

Week 2 – Mon-Friday (8 am – 10 am) / Tues & Thursday (12 pm – 1pm)

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
