Job summary

IHC in Porirua is seeking a strong, resilient Support Worker to assist adults with complex behavioural needs. You'll work with a team to help individuals learn to manage emotions, stay safe and grow.

You will be fully trained, with a supportive team behind you, and you will be required to work AM, PM and sleepover shifts, including regular weekend work. You should be calm, physically fit, and open-minded.

Qualifications

• Experience with supporting individuals with complex behaviours is preferred.
• Ability to work with whānau and be a positive role model.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training across health and wellbeing qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with complex behavioural needs to manage emotions.
• Help individuals stay safe and grow within their communities.
• Work as part of a team to respond to challenging situations.
• Complete shifts including AM, PM and sleepovers; weekend work as rostered.
