Job summary

HealthCare NZ in Napier is seeking a compassionate Community Support Worker to assist clients to live independently at home and in the community. You will follow care plans, provide practical and emotional support, and contribute to clients achieving their goals.

The role involves meal prep, community activities, medication assistance, personal and bowel care, and safe handling. Full NZ driver's licence and reliable transport are preferred.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Bowel cares, Manual handling, and Hoist transfers
• Home management
