Care on Call is looking for a dedicated Support Worker to assist clients between Whangārei and Kerikeri. This casual role involves helping with daily tasks, personal care, and accompanying clients to appointments and community events.

You will join a caring team and contribute to a supportive service that respects client autonomy, safety, and well-being. Applicants should have a current NZ driver’s license and NZ work rights, with health qualifications as required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with clients and families.
• Reliability, punctuality, honesty and a caring nature are essential.
• Ability to follow set processes and work independently in the community.

Responsabilités

• Assist clients with daily tasks and personal cares (showering, toileting, dressing).
• Support clients with social activities and transportation to appointments, work meetings, and events.
• Assist with light housework and meal preparation as needed.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centred care and maintain client dignity.

Care on Call is passionate about supporting people in the community and we take pride in the personalised service we deliver to clients and the staff we work with.

You will join an existing supportive and caring team that looks after our clients with their daily tasks, social activities, and work commitments. This includes but is not limited to:

• Personal cares (showering, toileting, dressing)
• Passive exercises and stretches
• Housework and meal preparation
• Driving client’s in their vehicle to get to appointments, work meetings, and community/social events

To match well with our clients you will need to be a special kind of person. One that has initiative, gets on well with others, can adapt to various situations and settings, can follow set processes and tasks, is proactive, has a ‘can do’ attitude, and has great community skills.

Additional requirements

• A current, clean full driver’s licence
• The legal right to work in NZ
• L2, L3 and L4 health qualification essential
• If you have no health qualification your application may not be considered
• Previous experience as a caregiver/support worker with similar clients
• Energetic, initiative, and a good sense of humour
• Great communication skills
• To be reliable, punctual, honest and caring
