Job summary

MASH Trust in Porirua is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Mental Health Residential team. You’ll support people in their daily lives, help maintain a positive home environment, and encourage independence.

This is a permanent, full-time role (80 hours per fortnight) with competitive pay of NZ$24.00–$29.70 per hour. Onboarding includes First Aid and De-escalation training, with opportunities to advance toward a Health & Wellbeing qualification.

About the role

We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our Mental Health Residential team in Porirua. You’ll support people in their daily lives, help maintain a positive home environment and encourage their independence.

Hours of work:

In both weeks of the fortnight, the shifts are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, from 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm.

Skills and experience

• You’re patient, friendly and respectful, and can build positive relationships with the people you support.
• You communicate well and work reliably as part of a team.
• You’re comfortable supporting people with everyday activities and encouraging their independence.
• Experience in mental health or a support role would be valuable.
