IDEA Services is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in the Waikato region to assist adults with intellectual disabilities at home and in the community. The role involves nighttime support, risk management, and delivering personalised care, requiring a calm, capable approach and a willingness to work varied shifts.

The position is permanent part-time, includes weekends and sleepovers, and offers opportunities to progress through Level 2–4 Health and Wellbeing certificates.

Competenze

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
• Full NZ driver’s license.
• Must have full working rights.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night.Previous relevant experience is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.

• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license.
• Must have full working rights.
