Job summary

IDEA Services invites applications for a Part-time Support Worker in Cambridge, New Zealand. You will support adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes, helping them achieve personal goals with safety and compassion.

Role includes weekend and sleepover shifts, 44 hours per fortnight, and training towards Level 2–4 certificates. You’ll work with a supportive team and have access to benefits after two years of service.

Qualifications

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver\'s license.
• Must have full working rights.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with intellectual disabilities living in their own homes to achieve goals.
• Manage risks, ensure safety, and provide night-time personal care.
• Collaborate with clients, families and care teams to plan care.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night. Previous relevant experience is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.
