Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe care focused on individual needs.
• Complete administrative notes, documentation, and handover accurately.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support recovery and use a trauma-informed approach.
• Support clients with medication administration where appropriate.

We’re seeking a part-time Support Worker to joinour team in Nelson. Based in a beautiful villa in The Wood, surrounded bytranquil trees and gardens, our 24/7 Crisis Respite and acute-admittingcommunity house provides short-term support for people experiencing mental healthdistress who are unable to remain at home. In this role, you’ll play a vitalpart in supporting tangata whai ora to rest, recover, and refocus usingtrauma-informed and AOD recovery approaches.

This shift is Sunday & Monday, 7am – 3.30pm.

You’ll also:

• Focusingon the individuals needs and providing culturally safe practice
• Relevantadministrative tasks, comprehensive notes and effective handover, andsupporting and collaborating with your colleagues
• You’llneed to be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes using arecovery model

About You | Mōu

Forthis role, mental health experience is essential and a minimum qualification ofthe NZ Level 4 Health and Well Being certificate is required (or an equivalentqualification or be currently working towards it). • NewZealand Certificate Level 4 in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognisedequivalent, or currently studying towards it).
• Somemental health experience is needed
• A fullNew Zealand drivers licence
• Youmust hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate or be willing toobtain one.
• Applicantsmust have the right to work in New Zealand. This role is notsupported under the AEWV.
