Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for a 24/7 residential service. You will support adult whaiora, build relationships, and help recovery goals in a recovery-focused environment.

Role requires Level 4+ MH&A qualification, 2+ years experience, a full NZ driver’s licence, and a current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain). Rotating shifts included.

Qualifications

• Level 4+ qualification in Mental Health & Addiction.
• At least 2 years' recent, hands-on experience supporting people with mental health and/or addiction.
• Strengths-based, recovery-focused, and non-judgemental approach.
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).

At Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa, we support people to live well through mental health, addiction, disability, rehabilitation, housing and wellbeing services, guided by connection, respect, learning and integrity.

Join our Pounamu residential service, supporting adult whaiora through crisis support and longer-term recovery. No two days are the same. You'll build meaningful relationships, support recovery goals, and help people take positive steps forward.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting adult whaiora in a 24-hour residential service

As a 24/7 service, all kaimahi must be available to work a rotating roster that includes:

• Morning: 7:00am – 3:30pm
• Afternoon: 3:00pm – 11:30pm
• Awake night: 11:00pm – 7:30am

• Level 4 or higher qualification in Mental Health & Addiction
• At least 2 years' recent, hands-on experience supporting people with mental health and/or addiction challenges in a residential, community, rehabilitation, inpatient, or similar mental health setting
• A strengths-based, recovery-focused, and non-judgemental approach
• Flexibility to work across all shift types on a rotating roster
• Full New Zealand driver's licence
• Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
