Job summary

The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand seeks a Support Services Coordinator to join the Office of the Chief Justice in Wellington. This permanent, full-time role supports ceremonial and judicial events, travel, facilities, and day-to-day services in a busy, client-focused environment.

You will coordinate meetings, events, travel, venues, and calendars, liaise with judiciary and external partners, and help ensure a safe, well-organised workplace with proactive, flexible service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administration, personal assistance, customer service, hospitality, reception, events, or another support-focused role.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint, along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities, timelines, and practical logistics with composure.
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach, with the initiative to anticipate needs, solve problems, and pitch in when required.
  • Professionalism, discretion, resilience, and a willingness to learn more about the Judiciary and Te Ao Māori.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, reliable administrative and logistical support across business services, events, and communications activities.
  • Coordinate meetings, judicial events, travel, accommodation, venues, materials, and calendars so key activities are well organised and run smoothly.
  • Liaise professionally with a wide range of people, including judiciary, internal teams, government offices, contractors, suppliers, and external agencies.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the office by managing supplies, mail, couriers, records, shared spaces, building matters, and facilities requests.
  • Help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming workplace by supporting health, safety, wellbeing, compliance, and practical on-site arrangements.
