Lead safe, efficient cattleyards operations at Alliance Group’s Pukeuri Plant
Are you a practical, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced primary industry environment? Alliance Group is looking for a Cattleyards Supervisor to lead daily cattleyards operations at our Pukeuri Plant. This is a high-impact frontline role where your leadership will help drive safe, efficient operations, strong animal welfare outcomes, accurate stock processing and a positive team culture.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will coordinate people, livestock, resources and compliance requirements to ensure cattleyards activities run smoothly each day. You will play a key role in maintaining standards across safety, animal welfare, quality, food safety and regulatory compliance while supporting your team to perform at their best.
Lead day-to-day cattleyards operations safely, efficiently and in line with site requirements.
Promote high animal welfare standards across stock handling, stock movement and processing activities.
Receive stock, reconcile inventory, record discrepancies and ensure process documentation is accurate and complete.
Maintain livestock system records and support stock appraisal, kill order, mouthing and washing processes.
Set clear expectations, coach employees and support strong team communication and performance.
Plan workforce resources, training, inductions, PPE, tools and day-to-day work allocation.
Complete safety interactions and audits, identify risks early and take practical action to manage hazards.
Monitor quality, food safety and compliance requirements, taking timely corrective action where needed.
Build effective working relationships with supervisors, vets, livestock, transport and wider site teams.
You will be someone who leads from the front, makes sound decisions under pressure and communicates clearly with a range of people. You will be organised, reliable and confident managing daily priorities in an operational environment where safety, animal welfare, compliance and teamwork matter.
Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, livestock, primary industry or a similar operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, organise or coordinate a team.
Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and confidence using operational systems.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
A practical commitment to health and safety, animal welfare, quality and compliance.
Confidence working collaboratively with internal teams, external stakeholders and changing operational priorities.
