Job summary

AFFCO New Zealand is seeking a reliable Cleaning Supervisor to lead our hygiene and sanitation team at a fast-paced lamb processing facility. You will ensure food safety, monitor cleaning standards, and drive a culture of safety and efficiency.

You will supervise cleaning operations, train staff, manage schedules, and maintain records to meet MPI and company requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of health and safety regulations are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supervisory role in food processing or industrial cleaning.
  • Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards in meat or food processing environments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights if required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations across the processing plant.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of cleaning staff.
  • Ensure all cleaning procedures meet industry, MPI, and company standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of hygiene practices.
  • Manage cleaning schedules and ensure completion within required timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and compliance checks.
  • Liaise with production and quality assurance teams to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture within the team.

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to lead our hygiene and sanitation team within a fast-paced lamb processing facility. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the plant meets strict food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations across the processing plant
