Job summary

Alliance Group Levin plant is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor & Planning Coordinator to lead the maintenance team, plan preventative work, and drive asset reliability on a busy manufacturing site.

You’ll balance people leadership, planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Lean practices and 5S are part of daily improvement.

Qualifications

  • A relevant engineering qualification.
  • Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory capability.
  • Commitment to coaching and developing others over time.
  • Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team.
  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance and shutdown work.
  • Support plant reliability through effective maintenance planning and asset management.
  • Manage engineering stores, spare parts, and maintenance resources.
  • Investigate equipment failures and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate contractors and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Support the implementation of maintenance systems, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with new equipment installations and plant upgrades.
  • Promote a strong health, safety, and food safety culture across the site.

The Role

We're looking for a motivated Maintenance Supervisor & Planning Coordinator to lead our maintenance team and help drive asset reliability across our busy manufacturing site.


This is a great opportunity for an experienced tradesperson or maintenance leader who enjoys balancing people leadership, maintenance planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in ensuring our plant operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting the development of maintenance best practices.


Key Responsibilities Are


  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team.

  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance and shutdown work.

  • Support plant reliability through effective maintenance planning and asset management.

About You

You will bring:



  • A relevant engineering qualification.

  • Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Proven leadership or supervisory capability.

  • A commitment to developing others through coaching, succession planning, and building capability, with the ambition to grow into broader leadership opportunities over time.

  • Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Sound understanding of health and safety requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.

  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S principles, and practical ways to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability.


Ideally, You'll Also Have


  • Experience in food processing or a similar manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance and condition monitoring practices.

  • Experience managing maintenance inventory and critical spares.

  • Lean Manufacturing or Yellow Belt certification, or a willingness to work towards this.
