Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island is seeking a Retail Duty Manager for our busy supermarket in Canterbury/West Melton. The role combines hands-on store work with leadership, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.

You will work closely with Owner Operator and Department Managers to maintain high standards across merchandising, presentation, and health and safety, while supervising the team as needed.

Qualifications

• Liquor Licence (Manager's Certificate) advantageous but not essential; we support obtaining.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the Owner Operator and Department Managers to support day-to-day running of the store.
• Providing leadership and direction to team members and supervising the store when required.
• Ensuring high standards of merchandising, presentation and availability are achieved and maintained.
• Working hands-on across all departments as required.
• Assisting with checkout operations and Lotto.
• Overseeing the responsible and compliant sale of liquor and tobacco.
• Maintaining and promoting Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
• Resolving customer and operational issues in a professional manner.
• Supporting the team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
