Job summary

Belron New Zealand (Smith&Smith®, Laser® and Exceed®) invites you to join as a Fixed term Summer Technician to support our Auto Glazing team in Papanui. You’ll repair and recalibrate vehicle glass with advanced tools and deliver top‑quality workmanship while advising customers on products. This hands‑on role provides training.

30 hours per week, rostered across Monday–Sunday. No prior autoglass experience is required; a clean NZ driver’s license and right to work in NZ are essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn hands‑on repair and calibration techniques.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Auto Glazing team with vehicle glass repair and calibration.

Location: Smith&Smith Papanui
Hours: 30 hours, rostered across the week (Mondays to Sundays)
Fixed Term: 7 December 2026 - 25 March 2027

What we’re looking for

Motivated people with a passion for hands‑on work, and a genuine interest in advancing technical skills with a keen eye for detail. No prior Autoglass repair and replacement experience is necessary as we provide comprehensive training. A passion for exceptional customer service. The ability to learn new technology and systems quickly. Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to upsell value‑added products and services. Physical capability to repetitively lift heavy items (up to 25kg) during a normal working day. A clean driver’s license (restricted or full class) is a minimum requirement. You must have unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand. The preferred candidate will be required to undergo a pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening test.
