Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a Student Support Adviser to join the Student Support team in the Faculty of Arts and Education. The role focuses on supporting undergraduate students, with an emphasis on students from rainbow communities, to enhance wellbeing, belonging, and academic success across the campus.

You will work closely with students, provide advice and connect them with appropriate university services and resources, reporting to the Student Support and Engagement Manager.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with students or young people.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Understanding of the tertiary environment and responding to students needing support.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance and support to enhance wellbeing, belonging and academic success.
• Connect students with relevant services and resources across the University.
• Support students from rainbow communities or with disabilities, depending on role.
• Work with the Student Support and Engagement team and report to the manager.
