Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a Te Terenga | Schools and Community Engagement Adviser to build meaningful, mana-enhancing relationships with secondary schools, students and whānau. You will guide outreach, develop tailored plans and support students from school to enrolment.

You will work across targeted schools and communities, delivering engagements, workshops and presentations while fostering partnerships and ensuring inclusive, supportive pathways to study at the university.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of NZ secondary school environment.
• Competence and confidence in te ao Māori.
• Proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience using digital engagement tools.

Responsibilities

• Combine strategy, relationship-building, and digital innovation to grow engagement and deliver a seamless school-leaver experience.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with schools, careers advisers, teachers, community groups, whānau and internal stakeholders.
• Deliver presentations, workshops, events, and outreach activities that inform and inspire students and whānau.
• Develop and execute tailored engagement plans across your allocated school and community portfolio.
• Provide accurate, relevant advice to prospective students and support them through the school-leaver journey.
• Champion the use of digital outreach tools and innovative engagement approaches.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement, awareness, and services for schools and communities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the team to ensure an inclusive experience.
