Job summary

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) invites applications for a permanent, full-time Student Advisor in the Disability Support Service based at the City Campus. The role provides specialist disability advice and accommodations, partnering with academics and professional staff to create inclusive learning environments that promote student success.

You will work directly with students to identify support needs, develop Academic Accommodation Plans, and connect learners with accessible

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a similar role/field.
• Current annual practicing certificate in Social Work or Occupational Therapy or similar or NZCER Level C test user.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised disability support and tailored case management to students.
• Assess needs and develop Academic Accommodation Plans and other supports.
• Review and evaluate effectiveness of supports to students over their academic studies.
• Identify student needs and use appropriate referral pathways.
• Support the implementation of academic accommodations in partnership with academic staff.
• Provide guidance on accessibility, and assistive technology, and contribute to universal design principles.
• Maintain accurate student records and contribute to service reporting requirements.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support positive student outcomes.
• Work at events such as AUT LIVE and other activations promoting the support available to students.
