Job summary

AUT in Auckland's City Campus is hiring a permanent, full-time Student Advisor in the Disability Support Service. You will work with disabled learners, provide specialist disability advice, coordinate accommodations, and connect students with accessible learning resources.

The role reports to the Disability Service Manager, supports equity and inclusion, and contributes to positive student outcomes across the university.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised disability support and tailored case management to students.
• Assess needs and develop Academic Accommodation Plans and other supports.
• Review and critically evaluate effectiveness of supports to students over their academic studies.
• Through a holistic case management approach, identify student needs and use appropriate referral pathways.
• Support the implementation of academic accommodations in partnership with academic staff.
• Provide guidance on accessibility, and assistive technology, and contribute to universal design principles.
• Maintain accurate student records and contribute to service reporting requirements.
• Equip students with skills to advance them beyond life at AUT.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support positive student outcomes.
• Work at events such as AUT LIVE and other activations promoting the support available to students at AUT.
