Job summary

Victoria University of Wellington is seeking a Student Readiness Coordinator (Work-Integrated Learning) to lead initiatives that prepare and support students for internships and work placements. You will collaborate with student support services, faculty WIL teams, course staff, and student groups to enhance student readiness and success.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in student support, employability, education, or a related field.
• Experience supporting diverse learners in complex learning environments.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders.
• Experience designing and delivering workshops, training, or student-facing resources.
• Strong understanding of equity, accessibility, and inclusive practice.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Ability to analyse student experience data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver student-facing workshops, resources, and readiness programmes.
• Provide specialist guidance and support for students navigating WIL-related issues.
• Build strong relationships with student support services, faculty staff, and student representative groups.
• Support the development of inclusive and accessible approaches to student support.
• Monitor student experience data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance and resources to staff supporting students undertaking WIL experiences.
