Job summary

Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) in Invercargill seeks a dynamic Research Coordinator to support and strengthen SIT’s research activities and processes, including PBRF obligations. The role supports the Research Manager and staff in implementing robust research practices and reports.

The successful candidate will typically hold a Master’s degree, with PhD (desirable), and demonstrate experience across research activities, ROMS familiarity, and event coordination.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• PhD in a relevant field (desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in research activities and processes.
• Experience working within a tertiary Research Office environment (desirable).
• Familiarity with Research Office Management Systems (ROMS).
• Experience in organising and facilitating research-related events and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate systems that support internal reporting and external research evaluation processes.
• Assist the Research Manager with reviewing Human Research Ethics Committee applications and other ethics-related processes.
• Provide administrative and strategic support for research-related activities and systems.
• Advise and support staff in best practices around publishing, research dissemination, and presenting at conferences.
• Facilitate workshops and events that promote research engagement and capacity building.
• Assist with the preparation of the SIT Annual Research Report and other reporting requirements.
• Maintain professional development and research engagement; participate in institutional initiatives.
• Pursue personal research interests to remain active in the field.
• Experience in organising and facilitating research-related events and workshops.
