Job summary

Alpine Energy in Timaru is seeking a Business Performance & Regulatory Analyst to provide the financial, performance and regulatory insight that supports informed operational decisions across the business.

Reporting to the Financial Planning & Reporting Manager, you will own management reporting, regulatory analysis and continuous improvement across financial systems and processes, including building dashboards with Power BI and supporting CAPEX evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in accounting/finance/commerce.
• A professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' experience in management accounting and regulatory reporting.
• Experience creating management reports, KPI frameworks and dashboards.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, variance analysis and financial modelling skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting/asset management systems experience.
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders across functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly/quarterly/ad hoc management reports and highlight variances, risks and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain financial and operational KPI frameworks across the business.
• Build and automate reporting tools and dashboards, including Power BI.
• Support CAPEX investment analysis and business case development.
• Analyse regulatory asset and capex data for disclosures, submissions and pricing.
• Prepare reconciliations, schedules and audit trails for projects and asset accounting.
• Monitor regulatory performance measures and impact of regulatory changes.
• Maintain data integrity and governance of financial/operational data.
• Support ERP and reporting system enhancements to improve processes.
• Assist daily cash management, cash flow forecasting and treasury reporting.
