Fluid Recruitment Limited is seeking a hands-on financial professional to lead reporting and controls improvements in Christchurch. You’ll apply technical accounting expertise and commercial thinking to deliver practical improvements that support smarter business decisions.

The role requires leading projects, reviewing processes, and providing technical accounting guidance across the organisation, including IFRS considerations and budgeting with the Finance team.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification and a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience with financial controls, reporting and process improvement.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of broader business practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to lead projects, influence others and turn ideas into action.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting and control improvement projects from planning through to implementation.
• Review accounting processes, systems and controls, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide technical accounting advice and support across the business.
• IFRS and other new or amended accounting standards.
• Review financial statements, consolidations and supporting reporting.
• Prepare clear and concise papers for the Audit & Financial Risk Subcommittee.
• Lead the corporate budgeting process in partnership with the wider Finance team.
• Partner with business units to deliver practical reporting solutions and provide training and support where required.
