Job summary

Early Settler Group in Dunedin is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to lead a Tuesday–Saturday, 40-hour week shift. You'll support the Store Manager to drive sales, coach the team, and deliver an exceptional customer experience while living our values.

You'll manage rostering, administration and onboarding, partner on visual merchandising and styling solutions, and help create a welcoming, high-performance environment for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years experience in retail with a proven track record of targets
• Strong commercial acumen and results-driven mindset
• Ability to coach, guide and motivate teams to deliver exceptional customer service
• Resourceful with a can-do attitude and ability to solve problems
• Able to balance customer care, team development and administrative tasks
• A genuine interest in home styling or furniture is a plus

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager to drive sales performance and achieve targets through effective selling of merchandise
• Work with customers to make their vision for their home a reality with styling recommendations
• Coach and guide the retail sales team to deliver exceptional customer service
• Support day-to-day store operations including rostering, administration, and onboarding of new team members
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and customer service targets
