Job summary

Vs Group of Enterprises Limited seeks a Store Manager for a new store opening in Port Charmers Dunedin. You will oversee daily operations, deliver high customer service, maintain product quality, and lead staff to ensure smooth, efficient operations.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to plan and execute policies, budgeting, stock control, and supplier relations while upholding safety standards. 35–40 hours per week, NZD 35–36 per hour.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory/management experience or a tertiary qualification.
• Willingness to work long hours including public holidays.
• 35+ guaranteed hours per week with remuneration of NZD 35–36 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage the overall operations of the store.
• Lead the team independently and supervise the staff for smooth routine operations of the business.
• Manage the daily operations of the store.
• Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, rostering, training and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Monitor and analyse sales and financial data.
• Practice excellent communication skills with staff, management and customers.
• Manage finances, including budgeting, cash handling and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, and negotiate contracts and pricing.
• Implement marketing and promotional activities to attract and retain customers.
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
• Strategically plan the growth of business at local level ensuring maximum regular casual customers at the store.
• Introduce and implement new and innovative ideas to generate revenue.
• Manage operations with passion, integrity and knowledge while promoting the culture and values.
• Provide direction to shift staff to achieve the store goals.
• Provide coaching and feedback to staff and assess performance on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure store meets health and safety and cleanliness standards.
• Order and manage stock on hand.
• Make decisions on pricing and stock levels.
• Stocktake periodically and to check for difference in physical stock in books.
• Make policies and checks to minimise stock expiry and wastage and to minimise the difference between physical stock at store and stock levels.

Key Requirments :

• You will have a teritary level qualification or at leaset two years of relevant work experience in supervisory /management roles .
• Be able to work long hours and during public holidays as required .
• You will be given 35 hours minimum guaranteed hours per week . Remuneration will be $35 to $36 per hour depending on your experience .
