Job summary

Om Sai Trading Limited in Wellington is seeking a Store Manager to lead a busy shop, drive sales and ensure exceptional customer service. You will determine product mix, supervise stock, and uphold service standards to maximize profitability.

The role requires weekend availability, strong work ethic, teamwork, and the ability to manage purchasing, promotions, staff training, and OH&S compliance. Salary ranges between NZ$28.00 and NZ$32.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience or any tertiary qualification in business.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Available to work on weekends when required.
• Demonstrate solid work ethic and reliability.
• Be motivated, positive and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards.
• Formulate purchasing, marketing policies and pricing after comparing competition.
• Promote and advertise goods and services.
• Sell goods and advise customers on product use.
• Create standard operating procedures when required.
• Maintain records of inventory and manage financial transactions.
• Deal with suppliers and other stakeholders; pay invoices on time.
• Undertake budgeting and operate within budgets.
• Oversee staff training and supervision; ensure OH&S compliance.
• Take overall responsibility for store profitability.
• Guarantee minimum 30 hours and maximum 45 hours per week.
• Provide ongoing training and development.

The Role will include the following duties:

• determining product mix, stock levels and service standards
• formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, and deciding prices after comparing it with competition
• do promotions and advertising the goods and services
• selling goods and services to customers and advising them on product use
• create standard operating procedures when required
• maintaining clear records of inventory and managing financial transactions
• dealing with suppliers and other stakeholders
• paying suppliers and other invoices on time
• undertaking budgeting and work under budgets
• controlling selection, training and supervision of staff
• ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• take overall responsibility of the profitability of the store
• Guaranteed minimum 30 hours of work per week and maximum of 45 hours of work per week
• On-going training and development
• Wage between $28.00 - $32.00 depending on work experience
