Job summary

John Franich Jewellers Ltd. is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our NorthWest Shopping Centre store, guiding day-to-day operations and driving sales with a focus on exceptional service and personalised customer experiences.

You will oversee jewellery services, workshop coordination and stock management while working closely with owners to uphold the store’s reputation for quality craftsmanship and client care. NZ residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven success in retail management, assistant management or senior retail sales.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to achieve sales targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The confidence to lead, make decisions and take responsibility.
• A genuine interest in jewellery, craftsmanship and personalised customer service.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Development: Lead by example, create a positive, professional team environment; coach and develop team members; uphold values and procedures; take ownership of daily store operations; drive sales, conversion and profitability; deliver relationship-focused customer experiences.
• Jewellery Services & Workshop Coordination: Understand jewellery collections, custom design, remodelling and repair services; oversee consultations, intake and workshop coordination; collaborate with jewellers to ensure outcomes; assist with basic services when trained.
• Store Operations: Maintain stock control and security; oversee merchandising and presentation; ensure efficient administration and daily processes.

About the opportunity

John Franich Jewellers is seeking an experienced, values-driven Store Manager to lead our NorthWest Shopping Centre store.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished Retail Manager, Assistant Manager or exceptional Senior Sales Professional ready to take the next step in their career.

Working closely with the owners, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and commercial performance of our store, while ensuring the exceptional service, professionalism and personal attention for which John Franich Jewellers is known.

As an independent manufacturing jeweller, we offer something different from conventional jewellery retail. Alongside our carefully curated collections, we specialise in custom design, remodelling, repairs and helping clients celebrate life's most meaningful moments.

Your responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Lead by example, creating a positive, professional and accountable team environment.

Coach and develop team members to achieve their individual and collective potential.

Uphold our company values, service standards and operational procedures.

Take ownership of daily store operations and decision-making within agreed responsibilities.

Drive sales performance, conversion and profitability through proactive leadership.

Deliver exceptional, relationship-focused customer experiences.

Identify sales opportunities, encourage effective follow-up and build lasting client relationships.

Monitor sales results, stock performance and key retail indicators.

Jewellery Services & Workshop Coordination

Develop a sound understanding of our jewellery collections, custom design, remodelling and repair services.

Oversee customer consultations, repair intake and workshop coordination.

Work collaboratively with our jewellers and specialist service providers to ensure exceptional outcomes.

Assist with basic jewellery and watch services where appropriately trained.

Store Operations

Maintain accurate stock control and high standards of security.

Oversee merchandising and the presentation of our jewellery collections.

Ensure efficient administration, communication and daily operational processes.

About you

We are looking for someone who brings both professional capability and personal integrity.

You will ideally have:

Proven success in retail management, assistant management or senior retail sales.

Strong commercial awareness and a demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

The confidence to lead, make decisions and take responsibility.

A genuine interest in jewellery, craftsmanship and personalised customer service.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

A respectful, collaborative approach with a natural ability to inspire others.

NZ resident

Experience in jewellery, watches or premium retail would be advantageous, although the right attitude, leadership ability and values are equally important.
