Job description

Nine stores. A customer base that keeps coming back. And a culture that people genuinely love being part of, both on the shop floor and behind the scenes. Our client is one of New Zealand's most well-loved fashion retailers, and they're now on the hunt for an experienced National Retail Manager to help write the next chapter of their story.

Based in Auckland, this role comes with regular travel out to stores nationwide, plus a schedule that mixes office days, store visits and time working from home. There's a generous salary package attached, and with the business growing, plenty of room to grow alongside it.

About the role

At its core, this role is about people. You'll be the one developing Store Managers into confident, capable leaders who can rally their teams, hit their goals and deliver a customer experience that feels genuinely personal, not just polished. It's a hands-on, collaborative role. You'll work closely with Store Managers and the wider Head Office team, spotting opportunities before anyone else does, solving problems as they come up, and making sure every store feels backed and connected rather than left to fend for itself.

Key responsibilities
  • Coach and mentor Store Managers, helping them lead, train and motivate their teams with real confidence
  • Set monthly sales budgets and partner with stores on the plans to hit them, then review performance and share the wins across the network
  • Champion a genuine, personalised customer experience by getting into stores, observing, coaching and giving feedback that actually helps
  • Represent the retail network and the voice of the customer at the weekly Trade Meeting, feeding insights straight back to Buying, Planning and Design
  • Partner with Marketing and Visual Merchandising on initiatives that drive foot traffic and bring seasonal launches to life
  • Keep standards consistent across store presentation and operations, and keep the lines of communication open between Head Office and stores
As the successful candidate, you'll be

An experienced multi-site retail leader who genuinely lights up around people, customers and stores. You're commercially sharp and comfortable with sales budgets and performance data, but what really sets you apart is your ability to build relationships, coach with heart and bring out the best in a team. You instinctively know when to step in with direction and when to step back and let people find their own way.

This is your chance to join a values-led retail community with real heart, and help shape what comes next for one of New Zealand's most well-loved fashion brands, alongside a Head Office team who care every bit as much about their people as they do about their product.

Due to the high volume of applications, only candidates with the relevant experience will be contacted.
