Canva is seeking a Senior Build & Release Engineer for mobile platforms in Wellington, NZ. You will own the build and release foundation across iOS and Android, drive the monorepo migration, and define the React Native build pipeline that underpins the Portable Platform.

You'll set standards for build reliability, release safety, and cross-platform tooling with a long-term horizon, collaborating across Mobile Workflows, Cross Platform, and DevX to unify tooling.

Qualifications

Deep, hands-on experience with build systems at production scale.
Track record delivering complex cross-team projects like migrations or build infra at scale.
Strong native mobile engineering background (iOS/Android).
Experience owning CI/CD or release pipelines relied upon by multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Own the build and release roadmap for Canva mobile platforms.
Mature Canva's mobile release tooling, including OTA updates and staged rollout.
Lead the monorepo migration for mobile repos with build/test/release continuity.
Define quality gates and CI/CD strategies across the pipeline.
Shape a shared React Native build foundation across web and mobile.
