Fulton Hogan is looking for a Specialist Operator / Mill Operator to run specialist plant and machinery for asphalt and paving projects. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.

You will perform plant checks, maintain records, and work closely with the foreperson and crew to meet required standards. A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• Licence requirements: Class 2 and 4 licences with W, T, R endorsements; Class 5 possible with training.
• Experience operating mill plants or asphalt/roading sites is preferred.
• Strong safety focus and reliability essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate mill plant and machinery safely and efficiently on daily work activities.
• Perform plant checks, basic maintenance and keep accurate records.
• Follow safety, quality and environmental processes and raise issues promptly.

Job description

We're looking for a Specialist Operator / Mill Operator to join our team at Fulton Hogan. In this role, you'll operate specialist plant and machinery to help deliver asphalt and paving work safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in doing good work, values safety, and enjoys being part of a team that backs each other. You'll be trusted to get stuck in, bring a steady head to site, and help keep work moving. At Fulton Hogan, titles matter less than ideas, and good work speaks for itself.

• Effectively and efficiently operate mill plant and machinery safely, efficiently, and in line with the daily work activities.
• Complete plant checks, basic maintenance, and accurate records before and during operation.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental processes, and speak up when something does not look right.
• Work closely with your foreperson and site crew to deliver work to the required standard and timeframe.
• Look for better, safer ways of working and contribute positively across the team.
• Experience operating plant and machinery in asphalt and paving, or roading and construction environments.
• A strong commitment to safety, wellbeing, and following site procedures.
• A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn and build skills.
• Class 2 and 4 licences, and W, T, R endorsements a must, class 5 we can help you gain.
• A team-focused attitude, practical problem-solving skills, and pride in a job done well.
