Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd is seeking a Specialist Operator/Mill Operator to join our team and operate specialist plant for asphalt and paving works. This hands-on role requires a safety-first approach and a collaborative mindset to keep projects on time and within budget.

Applicants should have experience operating plant in road/construction environments and hold Class 2 and 4 licences with W, T, R endorsements (Class 5 training supported). Ongoing training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience operating plant and machinery in asphalt/paving, or roading/construction environments.
• Must hold Class 2 and 4 licences with W, T, R endorsements; class 5 endorsement supported by training.

Responsibilities

• Operate mill plant and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily plant checks and keep accurate records.
• Follow safety, quality and environmental processes on site.
• Work with foreperson and crew to meet standards and timelines.
• Identify safer, better ways of working and support the team.

We’re looking for a Specialist Operator / Mill Operator to join our team at Fulton Hogan. In this role, you’ll operate specialist plant and machinery to help deliver asphalt and paving work safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in doing good work, values safety, and enjoys being part of a team that backs each other. You’ll be trusted to get stuck in, bring a steady head to site, and help keep work moving. At Fulton Hogan, titles matter less than ideas, and good work speaks for itself.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

• Effectively and efficiently operate mill plant and machinery safely, efficiently, and in line with the daily work activities.
• Complete plant checks, basic maintenance, and accurate records before and during operation.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental processes, and speak up when something does not look right.
• Work closely with your foreperson and site crew to deliver work to the required standard and timeframe.
• Look for better, safer ways of working and contribute positively across the team.

A strong commitment to safety, wellbeing, and following site procedures. A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn and build skills. Class 2 and 4 licences, and W, T, R endorsements a must, class 5 we can help you gain. A team-focused attitude, practical problem-solving skills, and pride in a job done well.
