Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Queenstown is seeking an Asphalt Plant Machine Operator for a fixed-term period ending 30 April 2027. You will operate the asphalt plant and related equipment, perform routine maintenance, and support deliveries and product quality in a busy Queenstown plant.

You'll receive training across plant functions, join a collaborative team, and contribute to safe, efficient operations while delivering high‑quality asphalt products for the community.

Qualifications

• Class 2 licence with WTR endorsement (desirable but not essential).
• Asphalt industry knowledge or experience (desirable but not essential).
• Confidence working with computers, systems, and numbers.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to health and safety and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate the asphalt plant safely and efficiently.
• Operate the loader and other plant equipment as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Direct on‑site truck movements and manage deliveries.
• Load customers and ensure product quality and accuracy.
• Support health, safety, and operational excellence across the site.

We're looking for an Asphalt Plant Machine Operator to join our Asphalt team in Queenstown on a fixed-term basis whilst we work on a project. You'll operate plant equipment, carry out maintenance activities, and support the day-to-day running of the asphalt plant while helping us deliver high-quality asphalt products and infrastructure solutions for our communities.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands‑on role within our busy Queenstown Asphalt Plant, working alongside a knowledgeable and experienced team. You'll receive training across multiple plant functions, gaining experience operating the loader, asphalt plant, and associated equipment. The role offers excellent variety, with daily task rotation and opportunities to develop your technical skills while contributing to safe and efficient plant operations.
