Job summary

Verkada is seeking a Solution Engineer in Auckland with expert experience in Cloud Security, IoT Systems, Networking, Linux systems, Security Surveillance and Access Control. You will partner with Account Executives to expand Verkada into Fortune 500 customers, interfacing with customers/partners and stakeholders throughout the sales process.

The role is currently remote, but candidates must be based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Technology, Cybersecurity or related Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs and L2 devices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
• Experience with IT infrastructure, Linux operating systems, APIs, Python, and other coding languages.
• Industry certifications are a plus: Network +, Security+, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.

Responsibilities

• Be the trusted technical advisor to key customer stakeholders: CTOs, CISOs, IT Executives, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, Head of Physical Security.
• Utilize technical expertise to understand and analyse customer requirements to formulate and design system solutions.
• Collaborate with the Sales team to assess and qualify customer opportunities and translate business needs into clear specifications.
• Lead product demonstrations and deliver engaging presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Act as Verkada technical Subject Matter Expert, collaborating with Product, Support, Marketing, and Enablement.
• 25% travel may be required.

Verkada is looking for a Solution Engineer in Auckland with expert experience in Cloud Security, IoT Systems, Networking, Linux systems, Security Surveillance and Access Control. You'll partner directly with the Account Executives to expand the Verkada footprint upmarket into Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include directly interfacing with customers/partners and stakeholders throughout the sales process, analysing business and technical requirements, overcoming technical objections, assisting customers in designing deployments with Verkada products and providing technical assistance to territory account reps. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to learn quickly and work independently while making impactful results for the company.

This role is currently remote, but candidates must be based in Auckland, New Zealand. The role will transition to a hybrid working model once an office is established in Auckland.

What You Bring

• Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities
• Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail
• Entrepreneurial and positive attitude with a strong desire to learn
• Experience working with IT infrastructure, Linux operating systems, APIs, Python, and other coding languages preferred
• Industry certifications are a plus: Network +, Security+, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.
