Job summary

Theta, a New Zealand-owned technology consultancy, is seeking a Digital Solution Architect to drive digital transformation for clients. You will collaborate across teams to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge cloud solutions focused on Microsoft Azure and hybrid Cloud environments.

You will lead architecture efforts, mentor staff, and ensure best practices using well-architected frameworks, delivering value to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an architect or 8+ years delivering Azure projects.
• Excellent customer-facing skills with business and technical stakeholders.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud solutions in Azure.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor, understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Create design specifications and reference architectures using well-architected frameworks.
• Lead development of innovative cloud solutions and troubleshoot complex cloud issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver cloud solutions.
• Guide and mentor other architects and engineering staff.

As a Digital Solution Architect, you will be at the forefront of driving digital transformation for our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge digital solutions that address complex business challenges. You will be involved in cloud and hybrid projects primarily around Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor, understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions, engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Create functional design specifications and solutions reference architectures, ensuring usage of common well-architected frameworks.
• Lead the development of innovative solutions and troubleshoot complex cloud or hybrid issues, delivering value for the customers.
• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver comprehensive cloud solutions, ensuring coordination between parties and technical expertise.
• Guide and mentor other architects and engineering staff, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Skills and Experience

• Excellent customer-facing skills, with experience working with technical and business stakeholders, and customers.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure, with solid software architecture experience and a good understanding of infrastructure.
• 5+ years of Architect experience or 8+ years of Azure Technical Lead delivery experience.
• Strong technical leadership—ability to drive standardisation of common practices and continuous quality and technology improvement within the teams.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Product and services design experience.
• Cybersecurity concerns understanding and experience.
• Experience in non-Microsoft cloud platforms and frameworks.
