Department of Corrections NZ is seeking a Social Worker to join the Waikato Hub at Waikeria Prison, focusing on the wellbeing of women in care, including mothers. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to support mothers, navigate child protection processes, and strengthen parent-child relationships while planning for safe releases.

The role requires a SWRB-recognised qualification, trauma-informed practice, and the ability to operate in a Māori cultural setting.

Formación

• Knowledge of and experience in social work with women, including those with trauma histories.
• Ability to work effectively in a Māori cultural setting and apply the Treaty of Waitangi.
• Knowledge of trauma informed practice models.
• Ability to make sound professional judgements tailoring solutions to individual circumstances.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships to achieve goals.
