Department of Corrections NZ invites applications for a Case Manager at Arohata Women’s Prison, Wellington. You will partner with sentencers, whānau and external services to address criminogenic needs and support reintegration, while preparing court and Parole Board reports with manaaki and dignity at the center of care.

You will work in a gender-specific, trauma-informed framework, focusing on wellbeing, safety and long-term positive change for the women in our care.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and experience in case management, rehabilitation and reintegration, or recent graduate with related qualification.
• Ability to work safely in a correctional environment, with awareness of safety procedures when dealing with offenders.
• Strong written skills and ability to prepare reports to meet legal standards.
• Excellent time management to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Ability to give and receive feedback in a reflective setting.
• Capable of building and maintaining rapport with diverse clients.
• Motivate and support people to make positive changes long-term.
• Think critically and recognise bias in decision making.
• Experience or knowledge of Mäori and Pacific communities and whänau.
