Job summary

New Zealand Government seeks a qualified, registered social worker to support tamariki and rangatahi. Based at Ōtāhuhu in Tāmaki Makaurau, you will assess needs, develop intervention plans and collaborate with families, whānau, and partner agencies to improve outcomes.

The role requires SWRB registration or eligibility, a current practicing certificate, strong cross-cultural understanding (tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures), and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Registration with SWRB or eligible to register.
• Current annual practicing certificate.
• SWRB-recognised social work qualification.
• Understanding of cross-cultural practice, tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.
• Full, clean, current driver''s licence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Resilience, problem-solving and flexibility.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet tamariki, rangatahi and families to assess needs and formulate plans.
• Attend hui-ā-whānau and family group conferences; partner with agencies and iwi.
• Collaborate with community groups to improve outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi.
• Maintain records and write reports to support interventions.
