Job summary

Deloitte in Aotearoa is seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud data solutions using Snowflake and modern data engineering technologies.

You will work across the full lifecycle—from data ingestion and transformation to modelling, automation, deployment, production support, and governance—embracing AI-enabled practices and tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and advanced SQL.
• Solid experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data platforms.
• Understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and modern data engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Snowflake features (databases, schemas, warehouses, stages, streams, tasks, roles).
• Experience with orchestration/transformation tools (Azure Data Factory, dbt, Airflow).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.
• Proficiency in Python is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions on Snowflake.
• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
• Develop high-quality SQL-based data transformations and frameworks.
• Design dimensional and analytical data models to support reporting and AI use cases.
• Integrate Snowflake with cloud platforms, APIs, databases, and files.
• Implement automated CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for Snowflake deployments.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Proactively leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery.
